North East Coastal Crawl

Join us on Friday 28th June for our Coastal Crawl – an annual sponsored walk along the beautiful north east coastline.

This 6k (4-mile) route is mostly flat and takes in the sights of our local coastline.

About the Coastal Crawl

START ZONE – Arrive at Spanish City, Whitley Bay, from 4 pm to enjoy live music, meet fellow walkers and collect your T-shirts and back signs. Walkers will set off at 6 pm.

MOMENT OF REFLECTION – Light a candle at the midway pause at St George's Church. This special moment will be accompanied by stunning vocals by Storiella.

FANFARE FINISH – Cross the line at Fish Quay, North Shields, in a flurry of medals, photos and foam finger high-fives! There will be complimentary pizza to say thank you for taking part, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants at Fish Quay for post-walk celebrations. The Ship’s Cat is the closest to the finish.

• We ask that you fundraise as much as you can for Maggie's Newcastle through sponsorship. We rely on fundraising from our local community to keep our doors open and fund our expert cancer support programme, so every pound you raise really does make a difference.
• Children are welcome to join with an adult. Please register using their adult/guardian’s email address.
• Dogs are welcome, but please note that the start zone is loud (with music and drums) and dogs aren’t allowed inside St George’s Church.

Safety information

• Please take care when crossing roads. Although the route mostly follows the Coastal Path, there are a few occasions where you will need to cross roads, so be sure to follow the highway code.
• The route is mostly flat and is wheelchair accessible, but do take care as it does include a steep paved bank.
• Please bring a water bottle.
