Maggie's virtual Gran Fondo

This summer take part in our brand-new cycling challenge. Challenge yourself to cycle 250 or 500km whilst raising money to help support people with cancer.

A Gran Fondo loosely translates as ‘Big Race’ and is all about community, inclusion and celebrating competitive cycling for everyone – not just the professionals.

Select your distance, set your start date and cycle when and where you want before the 13 August.

Whether you go the distance on a road bike, mountain bike, gravel bike, BMX, turbo trainer or static bike, this big ride is open to cyclists of all levels. We’ll cheer you on every pedal of the way through our virtual community on Facebook and Strava.

"Cycling helps me stay connected to Dad"

Olivia's story

For Olivia, cycling has allowed her to stay close to her dad Alan, a keen cyclist.

With her sister, mum and aunt, she took on a 550-mile cycle in his memory.

Many of our visitors have used cycling to manage the mental and emotional challenges of their cancer – just like Olivia.

"Cycling makes me feel close to Janos"

Calum's story

During their 12 years together, cycling would allow Calum and Janos to explore countries, learn skills, or get to and from hospital appointments.

Now for Calum, getting out on the bike means feeling close to Janos again.

We know physical activity can help us feel connected to people, places and ourselves. Calum is one of many of our visitors who’ve found meaning through the power of the bike.

"Maggie's has supported me using cycling"

The power of the bike

Katie was diagnosed with ocular melanoma. In this short film, Katie shares how she turned to Maggie's for cancer support.

We know how important it is to keep active and healthy, before, during and after cancer treatment.
