People's Postcode Lottery and Maggie's

Since 2008 Maggie’s has received over £17 million in unrestricted funds, thanks to the continuing support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

This incredible amount has allowed us to be there for thousands of people living with cancer by responding to local need and developing our programme of support, including most recently a new series of workshops to help people with the impact of a cancer diagnosis on their closest relationships.

We are very grateful for the ongoing generosity of players, but is also proud to continue after a decade to work in partnership with such an innovative organisation as People’s Postcode Lottery.

Raising money and awareness

People’s Postcode Lottery has been supporting charities in Britain since 2005, launching in Scotland in 2008. In that time, players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised more than £700 million for more than 60 good causes, including Maggie’s.

In 10 years of partnership so far, Maggie’s and People’s Postcode Lottery have continued to find creative ways of working together and we look forward to a future filled with even more exciting opportunities.

To mark 2018’s key milestone of over £10m funding in 10 years, People’s Postcode Lottery Ambassador Jeff Brazier visited Maggie’s Barts. Please watch this short film of his visit.

How does it work?

People's Postcode Lottery is a subscription lottery which raises money for charities.

Players, who win cash prizes while supporting good causes, sign up with their postcode and pay £10 per month. They are automatically entered into every draw and prizes are announced every day of the month.

As 32% of the ticket price goes to charities like Maggie’s, players know that they are helping amazing causes every single day.

Solicitation Statement

People's Postcode Lottery manages multiple society lotteries promoted by different charities. A list of the charities who fundraise with People's Postcode Lottery is available here. Of every £1 spent on lottery tickets, a minimum of 32p goes directly to these charities, 40p is used for prizes and 28p is paid to us to cover the expenses in running the lotteries. Based on 2018, in 2019 we expect to raise over £125 Million for charity and estimate the costs of marketing and running People's Postcode Lottery to be approximately £109 Million.
