Take part in our brand new hike in the Peak District, and support people with cancer.
Date: 13 September 2025
Time: 7:00 am
Where: Hope Valley, Peak District National Park
Registration Fee: £25 - £50 depending on distance
Sponsorship target: £150 - £300 depending on distance
Take on this renowned route across the Edale Skyline, starting and finishing in the picturesque town of Hope, nestled in the Hope Valley in the heart of the Peak District.
With stunning scenery and panoramic views, this route follows the famous High Peak circuit, including Mam Tor and The Great Ridge.
You’ll experience one of the most rewarding adventures, taking part with fellow hikers in support of Maggie’s. Your vital steps could help families find their feet after cancer has turned their worlds upside down.
Choose from 12 or 22 miles – both are circular routes starting and ending at Edale Village Hall
Please note that this is a fairly challenging event, and to take part you will need to have a good level of fitness. Some training is advised, and we’ll provide plans and information to help with that.
We expect the 22 mile route to take around 10- 12 hours, and the 12 mile route to take 5-6 hours to complete, including breaks.
This event is for over 18s only.
When cancer turns life upside down, Maggie’s is here. All our expert support is free to anyone with cancer and their family and friends.
By joining us on the Edale Skyline Challenge, you are helping us to ensure people with cancer get the support they need.
£150 can pay for one of our Getting Started sessions for up to 10 centre visitors, helping to support with thoughts, emotions and worries before, during and after any cancer treatment.
£250 could help pay for a six-week bereavement course, led by our psychologists to support our centre visitors to dealing with loss; helping to find a way to start moving forward.
