Returning to duties after cancer – HM The King’s openness will help so many
Friday 26 April 2024

Today, His Majesty the King announced he is returning to duties while he continues to receive treatment following his cancer diagnosis.
Our CEO Dame Laura Lee DBE has shared these words of support after the announcement that His Majesty the King will return to public duties:
“I am delighted to hear that His Majesty The King feels well enough to take on more public duties once more.
We know at Maggie’s how important continuing to work during treatment can be for many people as it can help to give them a sense of purpose and identity.
We send The King, our President Her Majesty The Queen, and all his family our best wishes.
His openness about his diagnosis has encouraged so many important conversations about cancer and I would like to thank him from my heart for using his own difficult experience to help others.”
